メロディーやビートよりもSonor（響き）に重点が置く感覚がさらに先鋭化されて、シンプルな音数ゆえにその濃厚さが浮かび上がる。音と音の隙間に清冽さと芳醇さが横たわる、ノンリニア的アルバム。
クニモンド滝口が現代に蘇らえらせた、シティポップの煌めき。80年代のシティポップを瞬間密封して現代に蘇らせたかのような、確信犯的なコンセプチュアル・アルバム。
広島出身の少女たちによって繰り広げられる、トキメキとキラメキに満ちたテクノ・ポップ。Capseleでクラブ・シーンを牽引する中田ヤスタカがコンポーザーを務める楽曲は、新しいアイドル・ユニットの在り方を明快に提示してみせた。
『君に胸キュン。』、『夢で逢えたら』、『Down Town』、『土曜日の恋人』と、当時のシティ・ポップの名曲をコンパイル。ドライヴ・ミュージックなどという言葉は今や死語だろうが、まさに本作は“使える”ドライヴ・ミュージック・アルバムなり。
元・SUPERCARのいしわたり淳治氏をプロデューサーに迎え、女性の生理的欲求に寄りすぎない理知的なサウンド・プロダクションに。清く正しく美しい、大和撫子3ピースバンド・ロック。
サディスティック・ミカ・バンドが、最強のロック・ミューズ木村カエラを召喚して3度目の再結成を果たした、ロック親父たちによる入魂作。でもフォーク・ロックに偏向している楽曲がどうも個人的に馴染めないので、ヘビー・ローテにはなりませんでした。すんません。
このアルバムのハイライトは、浜田雅功に楽曲提供した『チキンライス』のセルフカバーではなく、HOME MADE家族のKUROとコラボレーションした、M-3『ほんの少しだけ』なんです。
「人が俺のことをなんと言おうと、それは俺じゃない」。タイトルからリスナーに挑発をカマす、アークティック・モンキーズのデビュー・アルバム。ストロークスの影響がモロに感じられる、ガレージ・ロック・リバイバルの最前線。
