ビッグ・シーフのリードボーカル、エイドリアン・レンカーのソロ・アルバム。1、2分の短いフォーク・ソングを収めた『songs』、20分弱の長尺なインスト曲を収めた『instrumentals』に分けられている。ちなみに、美しい水彩画のアートワークを手がけているのは、エイドリアンの祖母であるダイアン・リーなんだとか。

ハイムは、“負の感情”すらもジャンルに固執しないサウンドで昇華させることで、どこか突き抜けたかのようなフィーリングを発露している。それは、彼女たちが常々口にするサッド・バンガー（悲しくて踊れる曲）を目指しているからだろう。メランコリックな感情がパッケージングされた、L.A.へのラブレター。
