あのウィーン・フィルをジョン・ウィリアムズが指揮して、『スター・ウォーズ』や『ハリー・ポッター』を演奏したライヴ・アルバムなんて、そんなのファンは感涙必至だろ。2020年リリースの作品で、ぶっちぎりの1位だろ。
スリープ・ロックを提唱するギア・マーガレットの2ndアルバム。ツアー中に倒れてしまい、一時期声を失ってしまったことで、伝統的なSSWよりもインストゥルメンタルへと変遷を遂げた傑作。
ビッグ・シーフのリードボーカル、エイドリアン・レンカーのソロ・アルバム。1、2分の短いフォーク・ソングを収めた『songs』、20分弱の長尺なインスト曲を収めた『instrumentals』に分けられている。ちなみに、美しい水彩画のアートワークを手がけているのは、エイドリアンの祖母であるダイアン・リーなんだとか。
ディアンジェロの「Black Messiah」を初めて聴いた時のような、ポストモダンかつネクストレベルのサウンド・プロダクション。ブラック・ミュージックを席巻する四人衆が創り上げた、バラエティーに富んだコラボ・アルバム。
ハイムは、“負の感情”すらもジャンルに固執しないサウンドで昇華させることで、どこか突き抜けたかのようなフィーリングを発露している。それは、彼女たちが常々口にするサッド・バンガー（悲しくて踊れる曲）を目指しているからだろう。メランコリックな感情がパッケージングされた、L.A.へのラブレター。
ジェフ・パーカーとの仕事でお馴染み、サックス奏者ジョシュ・ジョンソンのデビュー・アルバム。ヒップホップのニュアンスを取り込んで、ジャズ・シーンの現在位置を指し示す重要作に仕上がっている。
ドラム、ギター、スーパーソー、ピアノ、ノード、スポークンワード、エクストリームボーカルの7つのパートで構成された、全49曲の超大作。不遜にもBlurからTaylor Swiftまでカバーしてしまった、ハイパーポップの見本市。
パラガスのサイモン・マルティネスによるソロ第一弾。変態的ビートと変態的サウンドをかき集めてたった一人で多重録音、どこかマイク・オールドフィールド的なプログレ感も漂う、でもやっぱり変態的なアルバム。
世界に繋がる音。世界と共鳴する音。世界を癒す音。ライオンミルクはエレクトロニック・シャーマンとして、オリエンタリズムを濃厚に漂わせたサウンドを構築する。
サックス・プレイヤーとしてジャズ界の俊英となったサム・ゲンデルが、ポスト・モダンなエレクトロ・ミュージックへと接近。変態的コラージュ感覚がタマらない。
オーセンティックなジャズというジャンルを、エレクトロニックなビートとサイケデリックな音像で再構築した、未来派オンガク。
M-2「春 (2020)」のイントロがくるりの「ばらの花」っぽくて良いですね。
SAM KARMELとロックバンドDEVASTATIONSのCONRAD STANDISHによるプロジェクト、CS+Kreme。ピコピコしたスネアなのに、どこか鬱屈としたダーク・アンビエント。精神崩壊しそう。
ヒップホップとエクスペリメンタルを往還しながら、自分自身の音楽をアップデートし続けてきたイヴ・トゥモア。この5thアルバムでは、ソウル・ミュージックの匂いもまぶしつつ、いかがわしさと官能の臨界点を提示してみせる。
